Flipgrid as an Educational Tool

Flipgrid is another app that can be used for remote teaching to make it more interactive. Main focus is to speak and to respond to a thread in class discussion. With this app, students record a video of themselves answering a question asked by teacher, they can use filters or emojis if they don't want to be seen, then they share their ideas about the topic. You can regulate your discussion in a way that will just permit students to enter your discussion and prevent others from entering. Recording a video for a dicsussion is not something that students usually do in education. That's why this app will provide interaction and make lessons more enjoyable. Here, I started a discussion about whether mobile phones should be banned at schools or not.

This app provides students whole class collobration to do synchorous research task and doing&tracking group projects. In Padlet, you can create an interactive board on which students can write or show a picture, you can create a mindmap or allow students to do it, you can start a discussion and you can use a map if your topic is related ro geography. Here, I prepared an interactive board to which students are expected to tell about their favorite tourist places.

Edpuzzle for Comprehension Check & Listening

Edpuzzle is another app that can be used in remote teaching to make it more interactive. It enables you to customize a video. You can crop a video, add multiple choice or open ended questions or a note at whichever part of the video you want. You can also add voiceover which will replace the video's existing audio with an explanation in your own words or language. Here, I prepared a listening practice through which students will listen the song I inserted and choose correct lyrics.

Jamboard for Collabrative Tasks

Jamboard is an app that can be used in remote teaching to do it more interactive. It can be used for both synchronous and asynchronous callobrative tasks and writing. In this app, when you write, draw or do any kind change such as adding label in your own screen, it will appear in your students screen as well. You can easily invite your students to your Jam by simply sharing a link with them. You can allow them to do changes in your jam by making them editor, or you can just let them watch what you do in your Jam by making them viewer. I think social and cognitive presences will increase with the use of this app as they will be more active during lectures and feel the presence of their classmates. In this image, I prepared a Jam which requires students to write the names of the animals in picture as I writed three of them.
